Gen. Muhoozi has been expressing interest to succeed his father as the president of Uganda noting that those fighting the truth about him succeeding his father (Museveni) will be very disappointed.

Muhoozi first signalled his desire to go public about his presidential ambitions during his 48th birthday celebrations.

The birthday celebrations at State House in Entebbe on April 24, 2022, which was attended by President Museveni and his Rwandan counterpart Paul Kagame, created quite a buzz in the media and were seen by many as an effort to make Muhoozi popular as he prepares the ground for a shot at the next presidential elections.

After the birthday party, Muhoozi increasingly became assertive about his ascending to the presidency.

Museveni’s son publicly announced on May 1, 2022, that would take power. Muhoozi promised to increase budget allocation to the Sports docket when he takes over.

“I consider President @KagutaMuseveni, and President @PaulKagame the best strategists that ever lived! When Team MK wins power in this country, which we will! Our first act will be to increase the Sports budget!” Muhoozi last year in May.

Museveni’s term in office ends in 2026 and Gen. Muhoozi earlier this week announced that he will be retiring from the People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) this year.

“I also sang it because Jesus Christ is once again my ONLY Commander-in-Chief. I will be retiring from UPDF this year,” He said on Monday this week.

Gen.Muhoozi made the same announcement in March last year while he was the Commander of Land Forces.
