‘You’ve Literally Done Nothing Despite The Heavy Funding’- Speaker Among Orders Investigation Into Joel Ssenyonyi-Led COSASE Over Poor Performance

Kampala: All is not well with Nakawa West member of parliament who also doubles as the Spokesperson of the National Unity(NUP) Joel Ssenyonyo following the directive by the speaker of parliament Anita Among to have the Committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE) which he (Ssenyonyi) chairs investigated over poor performance despite heavy funding.
Anita Among on Wednesday expressed her disappointment on how the committee has failed to perform its duties noting that the government has invested lots of money but there are no results.
According to Among, the committee has only submitted four reports out of 107 inquiries which are supposed to be handled.
”The speaker subsequently ordered an audit on the performance of COSASE, We have invested lots of money in the committee [to perform its duties], but there are no results,” Parliament said in a statement
In response, however, Ssenyonyi asked the Speaker to first include the available reports on the order paper for debate.
“Imagine! Anyhow, still waiting for the delivered reports to be given space on Parliament’s order paper!” Ssenyonyi tweeted.
