SCF Soldier Kills Himself After Gunning Down His Girlfriend

Special Forces Command (SFC) officer in Kiruhura district, in Western Uganda, has killed himself after he shot his girlfriend dead and police are yet to establish the cause of the sad incident.

The Rwizi region police spokesperson, Samson Kasasira confirmed the incident saying it happened in the Rugaga trading center in Kiruhura district when Private Dickens Nuwamanya, 27, attached to the SFC commando brigade in Ruhegyere shot his lover identified as Patience Kamarembo, a bar attendant in Rugaga trading center.

“He shot the lover thrice in the chest killing her instantly and later turned the gun on himself. He shot himself in the head and died instantly,” Kasasira said.

Kusasira added that the two bodies have been taken to Kiruhura health center IV for postmortem whereas the killer weapon, an SMG AK47 rifle has also been recovered from the scene.

“The cause of the double homicide has not been ascertained but inquiries into the incident are still ongoing,” he added.
