Dr.Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi was born July, 28,1979 (44 yrs ago) to late Engineer David Balaam Byenkya Akiiki of Kijura, Masindi District and Gladesi Byenkya Abwooli of Kalisizo District in Central Buganda.
If you met Balaam for the first time on an event organized by his very own Agency, Balaam Marketing Agency carrying speakers, sweeping the wet carpets after the heavy downpour, carrying Dj box, receiving guests with his hands tacked behind his back, you may mistake him for an errand-boy.

Balaam is father to Benta Karuhanga Abwooli, Biden Kamusiime Amooti, Brennan Kamukama Akiiki and Bennette Tumusiime Amooti. He lost his first son to cancer in 2013.
Education Career
He attended Namasagali School, St. John Bosco Senior Secondary School & Original Progressive Senior Secondary School for A -level. He then enrolled at Makerere University for Bachelor of Commerce where he majored in Marketing and later did a Master of Business Administration (Marketing Option) at Cavendish University.
On February 21, 2023, Balaam was awarded a Honorary Doctorate in humanity from Zoe Life Theological College, USA for changing and impacting the lives of Ugandans.

Balaam is the Proprietor and owner of several companies including; Original Best Water company based in South Sudan, Radio One in South Sudan, which is the first privately owned media house in South Sudan, which he started in 2009.
He is also the founder of Balaam Marketing Agency, a leading marketing Agency in Uganda and South Sudan, Managing Director of Radio4 (Uganda), Radio 7 (Masindi), Radio8 (Masaka) and Radio8 (Elgon region).
Balaam is also the MTN Uganda distributor in Kigezi sub region under B&B Cellular, Chairman-Baitu Group Ltd and the leading events and concerts organizer in Uganda and South Sudan.
He is a Real Estate Developer in Kampala and South Sudan and he owns a 5 start Hotel in Masindi, which was recently commissioned by President Museveni.
