Police Finally Speak Out On Mass Food Poisoning At Nakanyonyi SS In Mukono
The latest news coming in indicates that over 150 students of Nakanyonyi Senior Secondary School in Nagalama, Mukono District were rushed to the hospital after a suspected food poisoning.
Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire confirmed the incident saying that the students began complaining of stomach pain after having supper on Wednesday night adding that he symptoms intensified after breakfast tea on Thursday.
In response to the alarming situation, the victims were promptly taken to Naggalama Hospital and Mukono General Hospital for immediate medical attention.
Owoyesigyire further added that samples of the food consumed by the students were taken for examination at the Government Analytical Laboratory in Kampala as part of a thorough investigation aimed at establishing the cause,
He also revealed that no deaths have been confirmed so far as alleged on social media.
”No deaths confirmed despite social media claims. Some students have already been discharged. We shall provide updates in due course” he added.
