Lohana Business Forum: Sudhir Applauds President Museveni For Good Governance & Supporting The Business Community

City Tycoon Dr Sudhir Ruparelia has called upon investors to invest in Uganda noting that it is a land full of opportunities where businesses can thrive.

According to Dr Sudhir, good governance under the leadership of President Museveni has made Uganda peaceful and hospitable that’s why foreign families have been able to live and work in the country for over 120 years and have succeeded in establishing businesses.

“Uganda has many natural resources, a young and increasingly educated workforce, steadily rising middle income and more stable in governance including microeconomic policies which makes an idea of this nation for a long term investment,” Dr Sudhir said while addressing top investors during Lohana International Business Forum at Speke Resort Munyonyo.

“Uganda’s conducive climate had boosted our businesses’ growth and fortunately HE. Museveni is such a far-sighted person who supports the business community of Uganda and he is always willing to listen to our concerns,” Dr Sudhir added.

Sudhir Ruparelia is the Chairman Board of Trustees Lohana Community which hosted a Business Forum that saw over 800 delegates from 28 countries across the world attend.

He said the Business Forum intended to create business opportunities for Uganda and the region adding that for decades now Lohana Community has played a big role in the economic development of Uganda through various investments like education, banking, agro-processing, manufacturing, hospitality industry among others.

”The Forum showcased the opportunities for business and investment in East Africa as well as providing a platform for delegates to have a stand to promote their companies to African businesses,” said Dr Sudhir on a forum that started on 19th March 2023 and ended today 22nd.

In his speech, President Museveni who presided over the business forum encouraged the Lohana Community to take advantage of various investment opportunities in Uganda and do business.

“Uganda has a huge cluster of raw materials mainly of agro products and mining which need value addition by setting up factories in Uganda, so I request you to take that path,” said Museveni. 

Amongst the top 20 fastest-growing economies of the world, 10 are African. East African countries are amongst these fast-growing economies. Kenya is growing at 5.5%, Uganda has grown at 7% in the past, Tanzania has grown at 4.9%, DRC is expected to have 6.3% growth and Rwanda has had 7.2% growth.
