Kwagalana Group Throws UGX 1 Billion Party To Celebrate Chairman Kirumira's Appointment As Honorary Consul To Namibia

Members of the Kwagalana Group, a closed club of wealthy Ugandans on Friday threw a party for their Chairman Godfrey Kirumira to congratulate him upon his appointment as the Honorary Consul To Namibia.

According to our credible sources, the Kampala billionaires collected over UGX 1 billion for the party that had all tribes of drinks, and food and saw over 750 guests fill up Speke Resort Munyonyo on Friday to celebrate Kirumira’s victory.

The UGX 1 Billion party attracted top government officials from Uganda and Namibia, top Mengo officials, and Kampala landlords among others.

The event was also warmed up by Congolese sensational singer and dancer Awilo Longomba who was hired at a whooping $10,000 (UGX 367,794,100) and entertained the overjoyed guests as they danced the night away.

Among the invited guests who graced the colourful event include the speaker of parliament Anita Among, DP’s Norbert Mao, IGG Beti Kamya, Minister Jim Muhwezi, Gen.Elly Kayanja, and City Tycoon Hamis Kiggundu aka Ham who according to our sources invested the biggest sum of money to see the event successful.

The event was also graced by the presence of Buganda Kingdom Queen Nnaabagereka Slyvia Nagginda, Buganda Kingdom deputy premier Twaha Kaawaase, Emmanuel Katongole, KACITA Chairman Nagenda Musoke, Dr John Bagambe who was the Chairman of the organising committee of the event.

Speaking during the event, Ham revealed he is like a son in the Kirumira family and they have to been working together in business for several years which has helped him build his(Ham) empire.

Ham further called upon Ugandans in business to use Kirumira,s appointment as an opportunity to invest in Namibia and also attract Namibia nationals to invest in Uganda.

Meanwhile, Kirumira also pledged to attract more Namibian investors and tourists to come to Uganda to visit different endowments and bring money into the country further applauding the Namibian government for giving him the opportunity to serve them as well as the Ugandan government for accepting his appointment.

Adding his voice to the long list of guests, His Excellency Lebbius Tangeni Tobias, the High Commissioner of the Republic of Namibia to Tanzania, as well as the whole of East Africa, noted that Kirumira is a blessing to their country and they have already benefited from his appointment since he took his term of office on May, 01,2023 and is expected to do more to drive smooth bilateral relations between Uganda and Namibia.

In his role, Kirumira will represent the commercial and diplomatic interests of Namibia, a COMESA member country just like Uganda. With a GDP per capita of USD8,900 10 times that of Uganda and a big-time importer of grains, the appointment of Godfrey Kirumira, himself a big-time trader in grains, portends big potential for Ugandan agriculture exports.

Although with a smaller GDP than Uganda’s USD12.3 billion versus Uganda’s USD40.5 billion in 2021, a small population of just less than 3 million people gives Namibi a GDP per capita edge (USD 8,900) over Uganda (USD 884).

The mineral-rich Namibia which is one of the world’s largest raw diamonds exporter, among many other minerals, is a big-time importer of grain, especially wheat, maize, and millet.

Kirumira is the chairman of the GKK group of companies a conglomerate with diverse interests in agriculture produce, petroleum, hospitality, real estate, transport, and logistics as well as security and forex trading.
