Full List! Furious Bobi Wine Suspends Top Party Leaders Over Misconduct
National Unity Platform (NUP) President Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has suspended five top party officials in the Busoga sub-region over what party leadership described as fights, divisions and misconduct which have grossly damaged the image of the Party.
“Over the past months, there have been many squabbles, in-fights and divisions between some of our leaders from the Busoga Sub-region. These divisions have grossly damaged the image of our Party and threatened cohesion amongst our members and supporters. The divisions have been aggravated by several leaders through their communication on various media houses and social media platforms”. the party secretary general, David Lewis Rubdngoya said in a statement.
“This goes contrary to the obligations of Members and leaders within the Party, as stipulated by Article 5.3 (b) of our Constitution which requires all Members to conduct themselves in a manner that does not bring disrepute to the name of the Party”, he added.
According to Rubongoya, the party has made several attempts to solve the matters amicably but all in vain and thus the immediate suspension and formed a special committee to investigate their conduct and advice the party on the way forward.
“Accordingly, the president of the National Unity Platform has with immediate effect suspended the following leaders from their respective offices and instituted a committee to investigate their conduct and advise the party on the way forward”…reads part of the statement
Among those suspended include; Bigirwa Moses Deputy Secretary for Mobilisation, Eastern Region, Muwanguzi Andrew – Ag. Head, Patriotism and ideology, Bamu Lulenzi -Coordinator, Busoga Sub-region Mukuve Ayagalaki Jamal- Ag. Coordinator Youth, Busoga Sub-region and Nsongambi Saulo- Ag. District Chairperson Jinja City.
While on suspension, the leaders have been instructed not to perform any office-related duties or represent the Party in any capacity or platform.
Meanwhile, the members of the Special Committee to handle the pending investigations include;
Hon. Jolly Mugisha- Chairperson who will be the chairperson, Hon. Aisha Kabanda as the Vice Chairperson while Kanaabi Moses, William Odinga Balikuddembe and Kassim Fatuma have been listed as members of the committee.
