Entebbe Express Highway Reopened After Being Closed Over Suspected Bomb Scare
Uganda police this morning announced that Entebbe Express Highway was closed as the Police Bomb squad launched an investigation into a package suspected to be explosive.
In a statement released this morning by SP Kauma Nsereko, Commander KMP Traffic all road users were directed to use the old Entebbe road to the city and back to Entebbe.
”This is to inform all road users who are using Entebbe Express Highway that there’s an investigation going by the Police Bomb Squad along the Expressway. You are therefore requested to use the Old Entebbe Road to the City and to Entebbe for the time being,” SP Kauma Nsereko, Commander KMP Traffic
However, the road was later reopened after the suspected metallic substance was taken to Naguru to be for further investigations
”We would like to applaud our bomb squad and crisis intervention teams for their prudent response to a bomb scare along the Entebbe Express highway. The suspicious object was removed and the highway reopened. We thank the public for their level of cooperation and vigilance” the Police later said.
