Buddu Football Fans Involved In Accident Ahead Of Masaza Cup Finals
Buddu football fans have been involved in a motor accident ahead of the Masaza cup finals.
According to a statement from police, the accident happened today morning 04.03.2023, at around 0800hrs at Kalandanzi swamp in Kamengo along the Kampala-Masaka highway.
”The accident involved motor vehicle registration number UAZ 800H MIT/Canter and injured one person identified as Kabuye Fred aged 30yrs old and a resident of Masaka” Police said in a statement.
”It’s alleged that the said motor vehicle was carrying Buddu football fans and heading to Wankulukuku. However, on reaching Kalandazi swamp there came an unknown motor vehicle overtook from the Kampala side. On giving it way, the canter driver failed to control it (since it was loaded with people), veered off the road and fell in the swamp” the Police said adding that more details will be availed.
The Masaza cup final is happening today Saturday 4th March 2023 at the Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku between Buddu Ssaza and Busiro Ssaza.
This year’s final has been shifted from St. Mary’s stadium in Kitende , which hosted the previous finals.
To reach this far, Buddu eliminated Bulemeezi at the semi-final stage last year in October while Busiro saw off Ssingo 4-3 on aggregate to reach the finals.
Buddu, who are defending champions will be seeking to defend the title they won in 2021 when they beat Buwekula 2-0 and also become the first team in Masaza cup history to defend it.
For Busiro, who are 2019 runners-up, they will be seeking their maiden title when they face off with Buddu at Wankulukuku.
