What Really Killed Father Simon Lokodo?- Here Are Shocking Details You Didn’t Know

Kampala: Former Ethics and Integrity Minister Fr Simon Lokodo boarded the plane to Geneva, Switzerland, after going through all forms of checks ups as a traveler passenger.
On landing in Geneva, Lokodo heading the Universal Periodic Review team of Uganda started business as intended little did he know these would be his last days.
However, during a session on Thursday, Lokodo started losing breath and unusual body weakness while at the UN offices before he collapsed.
He was gathered by members present and rushed to the hospital where he was admitted as an Intensive care Unit patient.
According to Doctors in Geneva, many tests including one for COVID-19 returned positive for multiple variants.
He was treated and seemed to be on a smooth road to recovery on Friday and was even put off from Oxygen according to sources.
However, a few minutes to midnight on Friday, Fr Lokodo’s condition deteriorated until he was pronounced dead on Saturday morning.
This was not the first Fr Lokodo to have such conditions and to be admitted to different hospitals in critical condition.
In 2018, he was admitted to Mulago in a very critical condition after he collapsed while on official duty in Kalangala.
He was consequently evacuated by air to Mulago Heart Institute where he was stabilized.
Lokodo would later in May 2019 be re-admitted at Mulago before his health condition necessitated his transfer to Aga Khan hospital in Kenya.
Lokodo’s death comes a few days when the county is mourning the death of the Bank of Uganda governor Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile who passed on early this week.
Mutebile passed on in Nairobi where he had been admitted since late December last year.
President Museveni has thus applauded the deceased former Ethics Minister, Fr. Simon Lokodo as a firm champion of morality whose death Museveni said has left him with a lot of pain.
“I have received the news of Hon Fr Simon Lokodo’s death with a heavy heart. Fr Lokodo served the nation gallantly as our Ethics & Integrity Minister during which his firmness against immorality and his desire to enforce culture exceedingly stood out. I am pained! He will be missed,” Museveni said
