President Yoweri Museveni has appointed Maj Tom Magambo who has been in the Internal Security Organisations(ISO) as the new police Criminal Investigations Director.

“President Museveni has promoted Private Tom Magambo to the rank of Major and appointed him Director Criminal Investigations of the Uganda Police Force,” the acting UPDF spokesperson, Lt Col Ronald Kakurungu said in a statement.

Kampala: President Yoweri Museveni, who is also the commander in chief of the armed forces, has promoted 528 officers of Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) to different ranks.

They include 3 officers from the rank of Lieutenant Colonel to full Colonel, 27 from Major to Lieutenant Colonel and 498 from Captain to Major.

Those promoted to full Colonel are Benard Tumwesigirie, Stephen Nsereko and Mark Mugarura.
The Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs made the announcement on Sunday, January 16.

“The Ministry of Defence and UPDF fraternity congratulate the officers upon the well-deserved promotions,” a statement issued by Lt. Col. Ronald Kakurungu, the acting Defence spokesman, said.
