Victoria University’s Beauty Queen Husinah Nassuna Crowned Miss Elite Uganda 2023/2024

It was pomp and glamour as Victoria University’s Husinah Nassuna was crowned Miss Elite Uganda 2023/2024 during the Miss Uganda grand finale held last evening at UMA Multipurpose Hall.
The crown of Miss Uganda was scooped by Nakaseke District’s Hannah Karema Tumukunde, taking over from Elizabeth Bagaya who succeeded Oliver Nakakande who didn’t finish her reign when she travelled abroad for studies.
Speaking during the event, Professor Lawrence Muganga, the vice-chancellor of Victoria University revealed that Nassuna has earned the prestigious title as a result of the hard work and nurturing she is getting from Victoria University.
”Victoria University is currently ranked the region’s best academic hub just because it offers effective education that is built upon acknowledging, nurturing, developing, and supporting our students’ passions, skills, interests, talents, and aspirations and we are convinced of the effectiveness of this educational approach,” Prof.Muganga noted.
Prof.Muganga, an education evangelist who has been advocating for experiential learning, competency-based learning, and de-colonization of Uganda’s education system noted that all the academic institutions should pick a leaf from Victoria University and switch to a type of education that empowers students like Nassuna to explore and understand themselves better and work towards achieving their life goals instead of ‘jailing’ them in lecture rooms and heap on them theoretical lectures.
”When students land in a good university like Victoria University, get empowered and pursue their interests and make use of their natural abilities, they become capable of generating opportunities not just for themselves but also for others and this is practical with our student Nassuna who is now an inspiration to all young women out there who dream big. We now call them to come to Victoria University we help them hit their goals…” Prof.Muganga added.
The 21yr old Nassuna is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in nursing at Victoria University.
Meanwhile, Nassuna is now warming up to represent Uganda in the Miss Elite Africa contest, an international beauty pageant competition taking place late this year in Somabay, a modern town resort at the Red Sea, Egypt.
The above contest is one of the largest & most prestigious around the globe with 34 contestants from all over the world with an aim to find the most exceptional representatives to celebrate women’s beauty.
Each contestant presents her own nation’s identity along with distinctive beauty, culture, tradition, and ethnicity as a world platform.
