Update: Governor Mutebile To Be Buried On Sunday 30 January

President Yoweri Museveni has appointed Maj Tom Magambo who has been in the Internal Security Organisations(ISO) as the new police Criminal Investigations Director.

“President Museveni has promoted Private Tom Magambo to the rank of Major and appointed him Director Criminal Investigations of the Uganda Police Force,” the acting UPDF spokesperson, Lt Col Ronald Kakurungu said in a statement.

Kampala: The Minister for ICT and national guidance has released a tentative program for sending off the late Bank of Uganda Governor Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile saying he will be buried on Sunday not on Monday as earlier communicated.

According to Baryomunsi, the burial date has been changed from Monday to Sunday 30 January 2022 starting from midday at Rugarama COU Cathedral in Kabale Municipality.

Dr Baryomunsi further noted that the body of the late governor is expected to be brought into the country, tomorrow, Tuesday and thereafter a vigil will be held at his home in Kololo on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, a parliamentary session shall be tentatively held on Thursday to pay tribute to the longest-serving governor of the central bank before a national service is held in his honor on Friday at the Kololo independence grounds.

The people of Kabale eulogize Mutebile as the man of the people who helped many people and the church.

Mutebile passed on Sunday at 5 am in Nairobi Hospital, Kenya at the age of 72.
