Traffic Police Officer Killed By Mob In Nakulabye After His Girlfriend Raised A False Alarm

President Yoweri Museveni has appointed Maj Tom Magambo who has been in the Internal Security Organisations(ISO) as the new police Criminal Investigations Director.
“President Museveni has promoted Private Tom Magambo to the rank of Major and appointed him Director Criminal Investigations of the Uganda Police Force,” the acting UPDF spokesperson, Lt Col Ronald Kakurungu said in a statement.
Kampala: A traffic officer identified as Police Constable (PC) Hashim Nwenyi has been brutally lynched to death by a violent mob that attacked him at Makerere-Nakulabye junction near Nicodemus Pork Joint in Nakulabye.
According to AIGP Asan Kasingye, the Police Political Commissar, PC Nwenyi left his Tororo unit to visit his girlfriend with whom they got misunderstandings over messages he found in her phone.
The Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire confirmed the sad incident saying it happened on Thursday at around 9 pm at Nakulabye.
“There was a mob justice incident around Nicodemus Nakulabye. The incident happened on Thursday at around 9:00 pm. The area Police responded, but unfortunately, he couldn’t make it. The body was conveyed to City Mortuary, Mulago,” he said.
Owoyesigyire Further noted that no arrests had been made yet.
