Stanbic Bank Donates IT Equipement Worth 100 Computers To Gender Ministry To Boost Youth Dev’t

Kampala: As part of their corporate responsibility, Stanbic Bank Uganda has donated over 100 computers to the ministry of gender and social development to enhance youth development.

The donation was received by the Minister of State for Youth and Children Affairs, Hon. Nyirabashitsi Sarah Mateke, in the ministry of gender and social development at Media center in Kampala.

Speaking during the handover, Mateke applauded Stanbic bank for putting a smile on the young vulnerable youths who will benefit directly from the donation of 100 computers adding that the computers will be put to use immediately.

”I want therefore on behalf of the government and most especially the ministry of gender and social development and on my own behalf to extend myriads of gratitude to you and through you to the entire Stanbic Bank for putting smiles on the faces of our young vulnerable people who will directly benefit from the donation of 100 computers” Mateke said.

Anne Juuko, the Chief Executive at Stanbic Bank noted that the bank devotes a significant portion of its Corporate Social Investment (CSI) budget towards supporting activities that promote youth development.

Apart from the donations they give to different institutions in need, Stanbic bank also runs annual schools championships which employ over 1000 people.

“We run an annual Stanbic National Schools Championship, the country’s largest youth entrepreneurship promotion program which has produced over 200 youth-led businesses, creating nearly 1000 direct jobs for youth.” Anne Juuko said.
