Kampala: The House of Prayer Ministries Church lead Pastor Aloysius Bugingo has denied his new lover Susan Makuka saying his visit to her family which took place on December 7, 2021, at her home in Kyebando, Kawempe North Constituency not an introduction ceremony but rather a casual visit.

Despite photos and videos of a traditional marriage ceremony while Bugingo visited his partner Makula’s parents, he has denied that such a ceremony never took place in a statement he made at police.

“My visit to Susan Makula’s home was just a casual visit and not a Traditional marriage ceremony,” He said.

Bugingo made the police statement on December 22, following a case filed at Kawempe Police station by Naluswa, accusing him of having committed bigamy.

Naluswa filed the case in her capacity as his lawfully wedded wife. The two have been living separate lives and Bugingo wanted a divorce but Naluswa refused to sign the divorce papers.

The Pastor who is likely to face a five-year jail sentence for conducting a marriage ceremony when he is still legally married to his first wife Teddy Naluswa Bugingo says he was only invited as a guest to a function by Makula’s family. He did not specify which kind of function it was.

Bugingo and Makula were dragged to court by city lawyer Male Mabirizi who accused them of, marrying when the city pastor is still legally married to Teddy Naluswa Bugingo.

Male also accuses Makula of getting married to Bugingo while knowing that he is still legally married.

The two are expected to appear in court on January 21, 2022, for their case hearing.
