Radio Hot100 Bows Out, Announces Exit From Radio Business After 20 Years Of Broadcasting

Kampala: Radio Hot 100FM has announced it’s quitting the radio business effective Friday 11th March 2022, bringing their 20 years broadcasting on Uganda’s Radio waves to a sudden end.

According to a statement from the Radio’s management, the time has come for them to move on to different ways of serving the audience, “using newer and more efficient platforms”.

”While we have truly enjoyed doing this, we believe that the time has come for us to move on and perhaps continue to serve you in different ways, using newer and more efficient platforms. Platforms that may increase engagement and value” the statement noted.

Adding ”therefore, with effect from 11th March 2022, we will discontinue our official broadcasts as HOTIO0 on the frequency 100.9 MHz”.

According to the statement, the station will reach out to advertisers to ensure that contractual obligations and reconciliations are done.

”To our advertisers, our team will be reaching out to you, to ensure that all reconciliations and contractual obligations are concluded, hassle-free” part of the statement added.

Although the management has not given clear details on why they are quitting the business, close sources revealed that the defunct radio has been sold off.
