Police Speak Out On Top City Lawyer Who Was Shot Dead In Makindye
Kampala Metropolitan police and Kajjansi police division are investigating circumstances under which a city lawyer identified as Mukisa Ronnie 45 years was gunned down by an unknown assailant at his home.
Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire confirmed the incident it happened on the night of 30th May 2023 at around 11 pm at Wakiti-kubilongo in Ndejje, Makindye Sabagabo.
Preliminary information so far available indicates that the deceased would always return home late but this time round he came back home at exactly 11 pm driving his Blue Subaru blue Legacy reg number UBJ 006K. He would later proceed to go close the gate and this is when he met his death.
Police say eyewitnesses have revealed that an unidentified individual was seen shooting at the deceased before he briefly withdrew but would later return to continue shooting him multiple times at close range in the head.
”Kajansi Police Station took immediate action upon receiving the report of the incident. A team was dispatched to the scene, followed by the introduction of canines to aid in the investigation. Despite their efforts, the scent was lost along the way. A thorough search of the area led to the recovery of four projectiles and cartridges. The body of Mr. Mukisa was subsequently retrieved and transported to the City Mortuary for postmortem examination” the Police said.
The assailant quickly fled the scene and escaped using a waiting motorcycle, police rushed to the scene and recovered bullet cartridges and subsequently conveyed the body of Mukisa to Mulago mortuary for postmortem as investigations into the murder continue.

The shooting comes at a time when the country has registered several murders by shooting, this month alone, minister Charles Okello Engola was shot dead by his bodyguard private Wilson Sabiiti who also later killed himself, blogger Isma Olaxess was gunned down in Kyanja, SP Ivan Wabwire shot dead a money lender at Raja Chambers identified as Utam Bandhari an Indian National.
Days later a Security guard shot his colleague in Wandegeya, another security guard shot his colleague in Tororo, later a police officer killed a UPDF soldier in Mbarara, another security guard killed himself at Mukwasi house in Kampala, a police officer shot at a UCU student in Mukono who survived with serious injuries.
just last week, a police officer in Kasanda shot at his boss who survived but also killed himself, a police guard attached to parliament who guards FUFA president Moses Magogo shot a man he suspected to be eloping with his wife in Soroti among other murders.
