Novelist Kakwenza Is Safe In Exile- US Based journalist Reveals, Set For Online Interview

Kampala: US-based Ugandan journalist Remmy Bahati has confirmed that novelist Kakwenza Rukirabashaija is safe in exile after exiting Uganda on Wednesday 9 February 2022.
According to Bahati, Kakwenza is set to appear on her program called Diaspora Open Space Conversations to narrate to tell his story after spending days in detention in Uganda where he alleged, he was subjected to torture and subjected to inhumane acts.
Without revealing the route and destination, Kakwenza’s lawyer Eron Kizza confirmed the troubled writer’s exit while appearing on NTV, however, some sources revealed that he had exited through Rwanda.
However, the Commander of Land Forces Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba in a tweet later dismissed the reports, stating that he had a conversation with the President of Rwanda Paul Kagame who confirmed that Kakwenza “was not in Rwanda”.
