Kampala: Uganda National Drug Authority (UNDA )has ordered the suspension of production and consumption of “Stronger Weekend” wine after it detected Viagra in the alcoholic drink.

UNDA has thus called upon shops, supermarkets, and bars to stop selling the product manufactured in Kasese by Thembomar Investment adding that the manufacturer should devise means to recall all products in the supply chain.

According to UNDA, Stronger Weekend Products used by men for extra power in bedrooms on the market are adulterated with Sildenafil Citrate/Viagra which has serious side effects when used without prescription by professional medical personnel.

Statement From UNDA

UNDA Further noted that they have engaged the UNBS to take action against the manufacturer of the ‘deadly’ drink.

”We have written to the Uganda National Bureau of Standards to take regulatory action against the manufacturer and compel them to stop with immediate effect the manufacturing of these products and recall all batches that are on the market” UNDA added.
