Millions Lost As Fuel Tank Explodes In Kabale

A fuel tanker has on Thursday 14th April 2022 burst into flames in Kabale district paralysing traffic along Kabale-Mbarara road.
The incident happened on Thursday at Kabaraga along Mbarara Kabale highway and it involved a fuel tank motor vehicle registration number SSD 775Q from Kampala to Kabale.
According to eye witnesses, the vehicle failed to negotiate a sharp corner, hit a side electric pole on the opposite side which sparked fire, overturned, exploded before burning down.
Kigezi regional police spokesperson Elly Maate,police confirmed the incident saying he was notified by the fire brigade and traffic before the team rushed to the scene and fire was extinguished.
Maate added that the fuel tank had about 300,000 liters of fuel worth millions of shillings and both the driver and turn man survived with injuries and admitted at Kabale referral hospital.
