I Have Done My Part! Committed Edith Nakalema Speaks Out As She Exits State House Anti-Corruption Unit

Kampala: Following President Museveni’s decision to appoint Brig. Gen. Henery Isoke as the new head of the State House Anti-Corruption Unit, Col Edith Nakalema has thanked Museveni for the appointment of her superior adding that this confirms the pivotal role that the unit plays in the country’s fight against corruption.

President Museveni yesterday appointed Brig. Gen. Isoke as the new head of the State House Anti-Corruption Unit to replace Nakalema who is headed for a one-year training course.

Nakalema has thus applauded president Museveni for giving her the opportunity to establish and lead the Unit which has registered massive success in the last three years.

“I wholeheartedly wish to thank H.E The President and Commander in Chief for the opportunity he gave me to establish and lead State House Anti Corruption Unit (SH-ACU) for the last three years. It’s been an honor and an enriching experience to serve my beloved country in that capacity,” she said.

“The appointment of my superior Brig. Gen. Henry Isoke confirms the pivotal role that the State House Anti Corruption Unit continues to play in the fight against corruption. I wish Afande Isoke the very best. SH-ACU is made up of a team of committed patriots who will give him all the support he needs.” she added.

Nakalema further applauded the media whom she says has been a great partner in exposing corrupt officials.


“I thank the media fraternity for being a dependable partner in exposing the corrupt and evangelizing our efforts in the war against corruption. I also thank the citizens for supporting our collective fight to eliminate the corrupt. Please keep it up!” she noted,

Nakalema who is heading for a one-year course in Jinja noted that she is confident she would get bigger assignments in the future.

“I am equally excited about my nomination by H.E The President to join the pioneer participants of National Defense College, Uganda (NDC-U). It’s the topmost course of one’s military career,” she said.

“I am confident that it will prepare me to serve my country even better.”
