‘He Is In Good Condition & Steadily Recovering’- Deputy Speaker Anita Among Clarifies On Jacob Oulanyah’s Condition

Kampala: The deputy speaker of Parliament Hon. Anita Among has confirmed that her superior, Rt Hon. Jacob Oulanyah has been unwell for the past two weeks but he steadily recovering.

Hon Among assured MPs on Tuesday that Oulanyah who is getting specialized treatment in the United States is in good condition and recovering steadily thus asking MPs to disregard the reports spreading on social media alleging that the speaker was in critical condition and others that he had died.

Hon Among revealed that she had personally spoken to Oulanyah from the US and that he gave a message to deliver to the MPs.

“So forget about what is on social media; I spoke to the right honorable Jacob right now before I came to the house he is in a good mood,” she said.

“He told me and said tell them that I love them. So this lugambo that is on social media, it is all the work of the devil which we cannot allow. The 11th parliament is not for the devil’s work.”

In a similar communication through her Twitter, Among said that medical experts at Mulago in consultation with personal doctors decided to refer him for further specialized medical attention out of the country.

“I wish to inform the Country that the Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon. Jacob Oulanyah has been unwell for the last two weeks. During that period he was receiving medical attention from Mulago National Referral Hospital,” she tweeted

”The Medical Experts at Mulago in consultation with his personal doctors, decided to refer him for further specialized medical attention out of the country. Subsequently on Friday, 4th February 2022, the Rt Hon. Oulanyah traveled out of the country. We pray for his speedy and complete recovery.” she added
