Four Arrested For Misusing Ambulance In Kayunga
Police In Kayunga have arrested four people for Misusing an Ambulance.
According to ASP Hellen Butoto the Public relations officer, Sezibwa region the intercepted Ambulance reg. No UBA 564P had four passengers on board who were not patients.
Butoto noted that before the arrest, police had received information that the ambulance was overspeeding yet it had no patients who needed an emergency.
” We received information that the said vehicle, was moving at break neck speed from Kampala to Kayunga with no patients. Efforts to have it stopped at various checkpoints were futile as the driver adamantly refused to stop,and/or adhere to traffic calls” Butoto said in a statement,
”We intercepted the Ambulance at Ntenjeru trading center, along Kayunga-Bbaale road in Kayunga Town Council. The driver fled from the scene after he was found transporting passengers” she added.
The four suspects are detained at CPS Kayunga, pending other investigations and have been charged with various offenses including mis-use of a vehicle.
