Breaking! Link Bus Passengers Left In Panic Mode After Being Robbed On Gun Point

 Kampala: Passengers aboard a Scania Link bus have been robbed at gunpoint in Mityana district along the Kampala-Fort Portal Highway.

This has been confirmed by Wamala Region Police Spokesperson, Rachel Kawala saying the police have already kicked off investigations into the matter.

Kawala noted that ”territorial police in Mityana are investigating an aggravated robbery by unknown people that occurred on 20/05/2022 at about 200am at Bamujugu swamp a boarder between Mityana and Kassanda district.

”Preliminary findings show that on the 19/05/2022 at around 1900/c a link bus reg no UBG 423 G left Bundibugyo town heading to Kampala with 65 passengers and upon reaching Bamujugu swamp , they met illegal road block of about ten people armed with two guns, sticks and hammers who intercepted them, ordered the passengers to move out of the bus and lie down on the road along mityana_ Kampala highway.
”They were robbed of unspecified amount of money, phones and other belongings, those that resisted were beaten”.


According to police, the robbers then ordered the passengers to board back the bus and took off before police were later informed about the incident but it was too late.


”We rushed to the scene of the crime, however, the suspects had fled the scene. Efforts are underway to have guns recovered and have suspects arrested and brought to book,” Kawala noted.
