Bar Aviation Aircraft Crashes In Queen Elizabeth National Park

News coming in from Kasese indicates that a plane operated by BAR aviation Uganda has crashed at Queen Elizabeth National Park Mweya airfield following four failed attempts to land.

According to BAR aviation, the aircraft had a mishap on the runway as it landed at the Mweya airfield in the Queen Elizabeth National Park yesterday but all the five passengers on board survived with no injuries.

“The management of BAR aviation informs the public that one of their aircraft had a mishap on the runway as it landed at Queen Elizabeth National Park (Mweya) airfield on Saturday 31st December 2022 at about 1:15 pm. All passengers and crew are safe. There are no causalities”- BAR Aviation said in a statement.

However, eyewitnesses revealed that the aircraft had attempted to land at the airstrip at least four times but was blocked by some animals forcing it to make U-turns and later landed on top of a structure.

BAR Aviation further added that flight operations will continue normally as investigations on the cause of the accidents take shape. The five passengers included three European travellers and two crew members.
